Help Between 450s
I will be getting a 450 soon i will be 15 in a few months and i need help choosing between 450s, i will be doing some trail riding and going to a track eery now and then the main 3 i really like are the trx450r, the kfx450r, and the yfz450x not the R. I would like the pros and cons to each fourwheeler and i dont really care if the quad has reverse or not.

450 is a good choice, no funner quad available right now. I own the DS 450 and I love it, have had no problems with it, it can handle whatever I can dish out, power is perfect. That being said I would suggest the Honda TRX 450, great power and reliability, they've had the same engine since 2006, great handling. They use separate oil for transmission and engine which makes for a longer lasting engine than any other 450. It doesn't handle nearly as well as the DS 450 however, but nothing does, the DS simply has the best geometry. They're both amazing on the track however. Definitely try to test drive them first if you can. The DS 450 has a much different feel than other 450s, its feels high but you never notice it in the corners. Make sure you like the feel of it, it doesn't take long for a 450 to become an extension of you, and its easier to stay in control at high speeds if the controls are positioned well. I would suggest either of them, never heard anything bad about them either. As for the YFZ, they're the most popular from where I'm from and there's nothing bad about them, I just never liked the feel of them. As for the KFX I have no experience, sat on one a couple years back when they came out, feels nice, and there's always that reverse...

I had a 2005 YZF, a 2006 LTR and a 2006 TRX 450. I still have the TRX 450.
I bought the YZF when I was having a lot of problems with my built up Banshee. It was great bike out of the box. I did Yosh exhaust and never had a single problem. Very reliable and fun to ride. But I wanted more suspension travel like I had on my Banshee.
So I bought the LTR to ride as out of the box it was wider and had more travel. We did Yosh exhaust and a cherry bomb. It ran great and had no issues over 3-4 years. I owned it for a year, then sold it to my cousin. It is wider, so if you do single track trail riding be sure you want the extra 4" of width.
I sold the YZF and the LTR to do a built up quad with Duncan Racing and they recommended I start with a Honda TRX 450. So I sold the other two.
In stock configuration I liked the YZF as the best "all around" bike. I would get an efi motor as that is the most flexible for any type of riding. The LTR is great if you are going to the track and doing more open desert type riding. But if you do tight trails the width may limit you in some areas. The TRX 450 in stock configuration is great, but I think I like how the YZF handles better.
Good luck
