Red face 1986 Honda CR500R won't kick start or idle

Hello everyone and thanks for your help. I recently got a CR500 and it scares me to death haha! This bike is essentially stock and DOES run. Here is the problem: i understand that these big bore bikes are very very tough to start but the one i have is impossible. I have tried everything in the book with the kick starting technique and it hasn't happened even one time. The only few times i have ever had it running is from a roll start down a hill that even takes a few tries. When running, this bike is extremely powerful and runs great, so much fun to ride, but it also doesn't idle. I have read about jetting kits and a few other things but i am not interested in spending money. So please give me a few pointers on how to get this beast started easier and get in to idle. Also, does anyone know if there are ANY electric start kits out there for this badass bike. Thanks for your help!

Check for air leaks around carb, can also be crank seals. Most likely a vacum (spelling) leak
