Talking 85 Honda fourtrax

I have an 85 Honda fourtrax I have recently cleaned the carberater to do that I had to take off the gas tank and the breather tube that runs from the front of the four wheller to the breather box and of coarse the carberater. And now the four wheeler will start but runs wide open and will not stop unless you turn it off. I have adjusted the idle screw and that didnt change a thing. I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I might need some help on this one guys any suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! It sounds to me like you may have put the slide in backwards. I've done it before and a simple 180 degree turn and I was back in business. Take a look and let us know.

So what you're saying is you didn't remove the throttle cable from the carb when you cleaned it? If that's the case then it sounds like a problem with the cable not routed correctly or is just binding up. Make sure the "carb end" of the cable is seated in the cap on top of the carb correctly.
