Backfireing 400ex

Default Backfireing 400ex

My 400ex backfires alot and it has gas in the tank. i have not put a carb. kit in the carb. could that be the problem?

When does it backfire, letting off the gas, or just sitting there running? You seem to have some issues with your carb.

You are running lean. What do you have for mods? Did you ever get it to stop reving?

I have no mods to carb. No it still revs

Does the motor, filter, exhaust have any mods? With the reving did you check the intake boot to see if the carb was seated in the boot properly?

k&n filter hmf slip on. Yes i made sure it was in the boot.

Jetting should be around 155-160. If the carb is clean I'm not sure I can help on the reving.

I havent put a carb kit in it yet if that is what you mean. I ordered one but didnt get it yet.
