what pipe to go with on my 300ex???
as of right now i have a fmf powercore4 headder and a dg accelorator silencer off a ltz 400 (made to fit) but is sealed and sounds like a turd at high rpms i am thinkin about buyinh a hmf comp series slip on and stock headder but i will c if the fmf head pipe will fit if not use the stock, and the other choice is a dg rcm (megaphone) full system the dg is about 220 and slip on hmf is 255 not a freak about power cuz its only a 300 but just want a good, loud toned pipe, like a rs2 on a z400 that sounds great but dont have the money to get a yosh or a CS x-4 (curtis sparks) mods are completely rebuilt motor, berrings, seals, gaskets etc. cylender hone just to clean it up fresh stock piston and rings, fresh intake and exhaust valves. once again if the pipe adds power ok but if not o well just looking for some personal experiances (opinions) about both these pipes. thanks

Don't run the stock head pipe with a slip on..the stock 300ex pipe is so small, you would gain little with ANY muffler, the real power in the 300ex is from opening up the head pipe, the air box, and rejetting. Then you may want to regear or get a modded CDI, the stock rev limiter on the Hondas are very low, and a free breathing, quicker revving motor will be bouncing off the rev limit all the time. I put a plus 1000 rpm cdi on my son's 300ex after putting an exhaust, modded lid and rejetting. It was actually slower without the cdi, it would rev so nice, you had to constantly be upshifting, or you hit the limit and the motor dogged out. With the upgraded cdi, you get to use all the power you paid for.
