Sounds expensive. I had a 300ex big bore to a 405. these motors are time bombs. sure they ar great but be prepared to take them apart alot even thought they run properly. we had oil leak out of the top head. so we pulled the motor. We found more problems than the oil leaking. well good luck with the motor. No more big bores for me.

Sorry TRX465, but there is no way that all those mods can be done for $500 even with 40% off and doing the work yourself. The FCR carb alone retails for at least $450 so 40% off the cost is $270. So the rest of the mods were done for only $230? Since you did the work yourself why don't you list the cost of each component so we can understand how it was so cheap. I will start the list just so you don't forget anything:
FCR carb - $
Big bore piston - $
Machine cylinder for big bore sleeve - $
Big bore sleeve - $
Hone sleeve - $
Hot Rod - $
Lighten flywheel - $
3-angle valve job - $
Titanium valves - $
Port & polish head - $
Custom cam - $
Cam springs and retainers - $
Cam chain - $
Weld and true crank - $
LRD exhaust - $
Gasket set - $
HD Clutch - $ (stock clutch would not hold up)
+8" swingarm - $
Regardless of the cost, if you have all these mods that thing should be extremely fast. I have two 492cc big bore motors and have never had a problem with reliability as thexotic mentioned.
