Which Shop Makes the Most HP for a 250R?
#1
Whether it be a 270, a 310, 350, 400+.... What ever combo works, I don't care! I just want all out HP & TRQ, in the top-end range.
I am looking to buy a new motor in the fall for some winter Drag Racing Radar runs. I need 100mph+!
I see alot of companies now pump out 70+ HP on gas, although some with 270's, some in the 300+ and others in the 400cc range.
Does anybody make 80? 85? 90HP?? (On gas)
Another question is if a 270cc motor and a 400cc motor both make ~75hp, wouldnt the big cuber make more torque, thus being the better of the two combo's?
I am looking for big 1/4 mile trap speed. Sometimes we also run 2000 feet at some snomobile events. They are all determined by mph though.
Then in the summer, a few trips to the local drag strip and some open woods trail riding would be a blast with big HP on tap trying to keep up with those 250 or 500 dirty bikes!
Thanks,
Dave DiLuca

I've been doing a lot of research lately on this subject. If I were to put my money down today, it would go to PSI Performance. Not only do they put out around 74 hp with their complete kit, but it's all externally adjustable (carb, compression, etc...). I'm not familiar with any other companies putting out more hp on gas - and to be honest - I don't think I'd want more. 74 hp should just about rip your arms from their sockets!

74 hp is alot, but after riding 220+ hp snowmobiles, that 1/4 in over 120mph on ice, 130+ on pavement (in 9.6 seconds), 74 hp will be too slow for me. I'd love to have 80 or 90hp and maybe a touch of spray later on once its dialed in I also run a 980hp late-model drag camaro, so you might see where I'm coming from
And I'm the slow guy amonst my friends when it comes to toys
