400ex metal shaving
#1
We just changed the oil cause the bike has been siting for 3 months or so. It started right up, sounded good. Apparently my friends found metal shaving in the oil. What does this mean. The bike has a 440kit. I got it around 5 months ago and rode it like 5 times. Then it sat cause winter. I never really rode it hard. Like i said it started right up and sounded good. has a small tick to it but i been told its cause the stage 2 cams
There saying its the crank, Is it true?

Was that the first time the oil was changed?
You have 2 options. If the motor does not sound like its going grenade and you have not changed the oil since the rebuild. Run it for a few hrs and change the oil again. If you still have metal in the oil you will have to pull the disassemble the motor and check everything out.
If you have changed the oil since the rebuild and you constantly have metal in the oil. Tear it down.
