Filter Cleaning
#2
Simply wash it with dishwashing soap and water. Do not use gasoline or any heavy solvent. Be sure to give it plenty of time (24 hours) to dry before spraying it with oil made especially for filter applications. Spend the few extra bucks and buy oil made especially for ATVs and motorcycles. One can should last quite a while.

What I did is go to the local dealer and buy a bottle (1 liter) of K&N cleaner. It was like 15$cdn. Just spray it on the filter, let cleaners do their job for 10 minutes, rinse with water, let it dry naturally, and you're done. It worked very good for me...and if I were to choose again, I would buy the special sprayer again.

Get the K&N filter cleaner and the filter oil.
Make sure you rinse the filter from the inside -out. Spray the filter good with the oil and think about spraying your air box too to help catch some dirt before it gets to the filter
