To put this into terms that more people can understand...Clinton declared roughly 9300 square miles, or an area larger than the entire state of Vermont off limits to anyone other than bird-watchers and bunny-huggers. Almost 6 billion acres! Some of that is coral reefs in the USVI, but not very much of it. I always thought that the mission of the National Park Service was to protect the land FOR the people, not from the people...
