Default ES Question

I have a '06 tsx350. The electric shift works well unless you rev the engine fairly high while driving. After that, I get three blinks on the gear indicator and it will not shift. Turn it off and back on, and it works fine. It doesn't seem to make any difference which gear I am in, just get the engine revved up, and it won't shift. Three blinks is supposed to indicate a problem with the angle sensor. Could it be simply that it is not installed correctly?
Thanks,
Tex
