Rincon or Rubicon...I'm struggling
#41
The Rincon has a 3 speed Auto/esp gear on gear transmission with a hydraulic torque converter. Same style of trans that is seen in a Car or Truck. Just as rebuildable as your car or truck as well

The Rubicons transmission is actually a Hydraulic CVT. Those 5 "speeds" are actually preset ratios for the swashplate when is ESP mode. It could easy be programmed for 20 ratios. In Auto mode, it's simply a CVT

And there aren't 5 gears in the rubicon, like I said its a CVT with 5 preset swash plate ratios.

no the hydromechanical definitely has gears, you can feel them shift either in auto or manual mode. pretty sure you're thinking of the Hondamatic CVT which is only in like 2 models

The Rubicon trans has to be replaced as a unit. Also, the wheel that isn't spinning is getting torque and more can be sent to that wheel w/a tap on the brake. That is why it isn't three wheel drive.
that's completely different. most car/truck transmissions can be repaired/rebuilt, the tranny on that Honda can't and it costs like $2000
yes features aren't everything but neither is reliability when you happen to hit a mud hole and your stuck there spinning because you got stuck with that god awful straight axle. same goes for diff lock, when you end up not being able to get over that hill or rocks because you only got 1 front wheel spinning and it's not even on the ground
i regularly ride 3 hours or more from home and i have never had any doubts about my Suzuki getting me home. in fact i've ended up towing tons of Hondas and Can-Ams out of that same trail. in the event i do have a brake down i carry around a kit that includes a few spare parts, tools, oil and of course zip ties and duct tape are pretty much priceless on the trails

Please look it up man. It's dumb arguing
#47
i'd still rather have a locker. sure you can't really steer with it but you don't need to either, you just use it to get past whatever then turn it off

nah i think you should be looking it up since clearly you're wrong
yes "Hondamatic" has a CVT version which i've acknowledged and it's not an argument at all but this guy is trying to tell me the hydromechanical is a CVT and he is 100% dead wrong
