400ex's frame welded wrong at factory update!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting...
My brand-new 2000 400EX's seat frame/grab bar was bent/crooked. If you stood directly behind my 400EX, the grab bar was at about a 10-degree angle, left to right (instead of being parallel with the axle).
I noticed this a month after getting the quad, and immediately went to the dealer. EVERY SINGLE NEW 400EX ON THEIR LOT WAS THE SAME WAY. They said thats how 400EX's come...which is BS. I have not seen another 400EX like this since then. It had to have been a manufacturing defect in one of the Honda plants.
I used a 6-foot steel prybar (wedged in the grab-bar) to straighten it out. In the process, I bent the damn axle (very slightly). Honda Rep said they'd replace it...
Anyone elses 2000 400EX seat frame/grab bar like this when you got it new?

The rear sub frame on most 400EX get bent slightly twards the battery side. My 2000 did this soon after I bought it, and most of the ones I've seen are like this. Some people think it is because of the weight of the battery(could be) when landing jumps. As for the lean of the front tire I have NOT seen a 400EX that is not like this from the factory '99-'01. The welds on my 400 are fine except for a little paint peeling from flex. But if your welds are cracked you should definitely get it fixed.

When he first brought it to the dealer's attention they did the same thing. They first put on a new set of ball joint's I think or tried to shim the bad side it didn't work. After calling back the called up the rep, but only after they started to measure up the frame's on the new bike's and thing's weren't lining up. Have you dealer look at it again and tell him you want the Honda rep to come out and look at it. Also make sure you are there when the rep come's out. Hope this help's. He should have his new frame by this week's end.
