I am looking for a good place and what to get... I have a '01 Rancher and am interested in getting rid of those stinkin 2ply tires and upgrading the wheels as well... nothing in the "mudder category" as I trail ride mostly, just getting out to the river on logging roads.

Anyone have advice on where I can get tire/wheel deals, something like those nice ITP Magnums and some Titan 489 X/T combo? Much appreciated fellas, FYI, got two inches of snow toady, what the heck is that all about...

Rocky Mountain ATV is probably your best bet for a package. www.rockymountainatv.com

DryFly,

You might want to check out mudrunners. They are a mud tire but not real aggressive. There lug depth is around 1 inch.

There is no doubt the 489's XT will be better than those stock Rancher tires.

I put Kenda Bearclaws on mine, they are a 4-ply
all around great tire. look at www.4atvtires.com
This is east ky motorsports and is where I ordered them from. 400$ for wheels and tires. I went with the 25x8 12' on front and 25x10 12's on the back.

I run ITP Blackwaters (26X12-12rear, and 26X8-12 front) on Magnum (aluminum) wheels, and love them (they look darn good too!!). I know the Blackwater has a reputation as a mud tire, but it does very well in other conditions too (I ride mostly desert). I got them from Chapparral. Their price was hundreds less than anywhere else. Also, consider adding a pipe, because you will lose some low end with the taller tires.

4x4Mark: How do you like the SuperTrapp on your Rancher? Is it the Hi-Lifter performance kit?
I have the same quad as you and wonder how the mods have improved performance, noise levels, etc.
Since upgrading to bigger tires I really would like to turn them with more H.P.
Any input would be appreciated.

www.chaparral-racing.com If you order form them, be REALLY specific about everything you want. It's not a regular catalog item so the girl who took my order didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Be ready to talk them through it!!

I like it quite a bit. I did not purchase the Highlifter kit, but ended up with the same thing via seperate purchases. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to do much real riding, just preliminary testing. It feels a bit stronger through the mid-range, and the sound is just about right. I'm sure more time on it, and fine tuning the jetting will improve it a bit more.
