So its a lever instead of a button now? I've owned a 3 Hondas and sometimes reverse is a little frustrating. I also owned a Suzuki Ozark and their method of putting the machine in reverse, though similar, is much easier to execute. Instead of a button, they have something that looks similar to a choke lever in the middle. Put the machine in neutral, pull this lever and then downshift to reverse. It sounds almost the same but trust me its easier. I'm sure there are still ways to override the red button or lever as it appears to be now and simply downshift directly from neutral to reverse. Honda always said that it was a safety concern but I think its more of a gearbox concern, to be completely honest. Without the red button, you could actually downshift to reverse while still moving forward in neutral.

 

So, you have to press a button, pull back on a lever, and hold a button? I love how reliable Hondas are but I don't think I want that much of a production to go into reverse. Honda likes to be different but sometimes they leave me scratching my head.

 

Nice machines,but seems like the old Honda Big Red was easier to get in reverse.

 

Yes and no. The actual reverse part is just pull back the lever, then push a button.

But before that, you have to go to school and get a job, find a wife, and purchase the bikes.
