How can I carry a fishing pole? It must be easy to store and remove due to frequent stops along river. It also needs to be protected from rattling around and getting hung up in brush.
I tried a few things last year but none worked well.

 

Try a Koplin Gun Boot it works well for me.

 

Go to WalMart and get one of those telescopping pole it fits in to my front bag and only cost about 30 bucks and is always with me...

Where is the best place to buy one? I was thinking about a gun boot but didn't know how well a reel would fit. I've never seen one other than in pictures. Thanks for your help.

 

muzzy3- I bought my wife a fishing pole holder from a sporting goods store, that was designed to attach to a bicycle axcel for 8.00 dollars.The piece is about 3 inches in diam. and 8 inches long. The handle for the pole twist and locks in.You should give it a look.

 

I use a PVC 3" dia. pipe cut to the lenght of one half the rod when apart, then put two end caps at each end.The only drag though is the reel has to come of to fit the rod inside.

 

Check out cabelos. Im pretty sure they would have one
