What is the best pipe for 300ex???
#2
do you want the loudest? do your neighbors want you to have the loudest? will the houses that surround the place you ride want you to have the loudest? the answer to these questions should be NO! loud pipes = less places to ride.
with that said, there is a lot of good pipes for the 300ex. you could go with a slip-on or a complete system. supertrapp makes a complete system for about $230. you could get a white bros. slip-on between $230-270.
there are tons others, too many to list. I think any pipe would be good if its tuned properly. you should decide if you want the whole system (headpipe and silencer) or just the silencer. then weigh out the costs, if thats important to you.
me, I just bought a pro circuit T4 silencer and its way loud, too loud. now I have to look into getting a quiet core insert or something to quiet it up.

The first pipe that I had for my 300ex was a DG RCM. I sold it because it was too loud. I then bought a Curtis Sparks pipe, with Supertrapp. It was chrome, and I loved it. It sounded great and it looked great. I bought it in 1995 and paid $190 + shipping. It sounded totally different than any other 300ex. It also seemed to perform well. I know that Curtis Sparks did say, however, this pipe performed better on a modified machine than a stocker. Mine was modified extensively. There is one picture that I know of in the mags that shows the pipe that I had. It was Dirtwheels, May 1994. If I had a scanner, I could show you my pics.
