Whats a Foreman400 worth?
#1
I'm selling my Foreman 400 and I just put a new top end, crank, and oil pump into it. She's a '95 there are no cracks in the plastic etc... so it's in really good shape. What is the price range I should ask for? I was thinkin along the lines of $3,800 but what do you guys think sounds right?

This past February I sold my 96 Foreman 400 for $4250.00. I had a ton of calls and the first guy to come look at it, bought it. It had a winch, snowplow, heated grips/throttle, rear rack bag, and a Kolpin gun boot. It was in great shape, I don't know how many miles it had but the original tires were at about 50% tread. Now's probably not the ideal time of year to sale a utility machine. If you could, I'd wait until Fall, right before hunting season. Good luck.

A decent top end????
Compared to what???
They are good quads for slow speed utility work, and that's about all.
They have almost no suspension, and that becomes clear as soon as you try to trail ride them at anything more than a snails pace.
The stock tires suck!
They're REALLY underpowered.
They're uncomfortable.
The head light and speedo always get smashed off.
There is too little ground clearence.
The front fenders hang too low and get torn off.
They are dependable, up to a point, but no better than most.
Like all Hondas they only start in neutral, which is a royal pain in the *** when you're working.
The only positive things I can say about them is that a)they almost always start, b)it's almost impossible to drive them fast enough to beat them up, and, c)in the event that you might lose them off a trailer or out of the truck they will likely suffer only cosmetic damage.
Trust me, I speak from expirence with more than one 400 Forman.
And redrubi01, I've got nothing up my butt, although you seem mighty touchy about the 400.
