I bought a 400EX a week ago. Now compared to my banshee it's slow. I was wondering what mods would make it more banshee competitive. No I take that back, what mods would make it a banshee killer!!!!!!! Sorry if you've answered this a million times(I know you did) I'm new to this side of the forum.

The only 400ex I've seen that beat a modded shee was in the sand, and I heard that it was bored and stroked somehow to a 505cc. The owner said on the road it was a different story though...try nitrous or a turbo!!!

I have been in your same situation before. You can do the common mods to the 400ex (440 kit-pipe-intake-rev kit-etc.) and after you hit 4th gear the stock Banshee will just drive away from you. With enough cash, anything is possible though.

I can beat a stock banshee in a 1/4 mile drag by a length. If i can do that, a 505 Curtis Sparks engine would come close to being king of the hill. Besides all the 520 banshees and so forth.

I've never heard of anyone picking up 10mph from a pipe and filter...

I have a 99 Banshee that has been jetted and piped. I want a bike with some better low end. I can pick up a new 2001 for $5200. Are you happy overall with the 400 ex???

Overall, Yes. I love the bike. I grew up riding fast machines and that's the only part the EX loses. The banshee is a awesome bike but you have to horse it everywhere. Mainly spinning too. The EX is better in overall aspects.

A 440EX will beat a stock shee by many bike lenghts with ease.

I Don't think a 440EX will beat a stock banshee by *Many* Lenghts it might even be a tie. Mobiledyno.com has a 440EX thats is tricked out and it has 36HP. A stock Shee is around 36hp also. Put pipes, filter, jetkit on a shee and your around 40hp.
