Default Hot cam question

I know a stage 3 hot cam increases the mid and top range quite a bit, but what about the low end? I do trail riding so I'm worried it will take away the low end. Does a stage 3 hot cam ruin the low end of the quad for trails?

Thanks

Typically , yes. Unless it's for racing, a hot cam will reduce lower rpm performance. Talk to the cam grinder. Unless it's a real stump puller already, you'll be happier with a "torquer" style. I put a low end torquer cam in my old Arctic Cat 500 (Suzuki motor) , that and a 5 degree advance key+ 93 octane, suddenly it felt as strong as my 700 did stock. If it's an automatic, you can gain a lot by reclutching too.
