Yes a 400ex would definetely outrun a piped 250x without a doubt. The top speed of a stock 400 is around 65-67 mph.

would the 250x even give it a good run or would it just blow it away from the start? me and my friend are fightin about this cause he thinks his 88 is super fast and it would give a 2001 ex a good run. but i think otherwise.

 

never even close unless the 400ex rider wheelies in which case he will still blow the 250x away before it gets out of 2nd gear. and trust me cuz i used to have a 250X. Piped

dont try to compare engine displacements to justify engine performance look at a 370 long rod banshee it will cream a built raptor "660"or a ds650 and they have twice as much engine displacement..

The lt250r is a 2 stroke and it will outrun a 400ex, i believe the lt has somewhere in the mid 30's hp stock. A honda 250r is in the 30's stock, but a 250x is a 4 stroke and i bet it has around 16-18 hp stock, it's a cool trail quad though.

 

ok first of all this is a dumb question. I own both a 1999 HóÑdÅ 400EX with a ÞÖwÊ®ÇóRê IV Silencer, DYNO JET Jet Kit, WHITE BROS rev kit, Answer Aluminum Handle Bar w/ Pro grips, Armadillo skid plate, Bandit XC’s on Douglas .190’s, K&N air filter with outerwears, and ebc brakepads AND a 1988 Honda 250x with a cheap ****ty cobra exhaust and maxis razors all around. The 250x isnt even close to the 400 what-so-ever. You would definetly need more then a pipe (which does pretty much nothing) on a 250x to keep up with a stock 400ex. And oh yea it wouldnt be even close
