250R/430X
#1
I found A 250r with a 350x motor bored out to a 430cc for $1800 it runs good and has a new swingarm , axle ,and a arms . but the wiring is all messed up and it has been beat . I was wondering if this was a worth while deal or not . also does the 350x motor have reverse and how many gears does it have.

no reverse in the 350x and its a six speed. depends on the shape of it and what kind of riding you do. if tuned and running they can be comparable to a 400ex. i've done the conversion before. i liked it. what did they cut up on the frame? anyway hope this helps D.J.

I have the 250R/350X conversion, click on the link in my signature if you want to see pictures. I paid $2,000 for mine five years ago. It had a stock chassis that was pretty beat up. I spent an additional $7,000 and replaced every singe bushing and bearing in the entire frame, modified the motor, and installed a bunch of modifications to make a "new" national level, full-race motocrosser (total of $9,000). You will need to do a few modifications to the motor to keep up with a 400EX because the EX is slightly quicker than a stock 350X motor (in the quad chassis). Let me know if you have any questions.

I plan to ride this in some trails and roads and a little mx at the local track . my friends have 300ex, 250r, and 400ex . I just want to be able to beat them werever i go . I can easily beat the kid with the 300ex in trails but I just need something fast and cheap Im only 14 so i dont have a ton of money to throw around . Is this motor reliable ? I rode with the kid on his threewheeler before it was turned into this 430x fourwheeler , will it be as fast as the threewheeler > .? thanks for all your help!
