This weekend after some good trail riding at Wayne National Forest. I think I estimated my mileage at 20.76 MPG since I switched to reserve (2.6 gallons used) at 54 miles, give or take a mile or two. Has anyone more accurately measured their mileage? If so, what was it? Just curious.

Hey Buckeye~

Doing some hard trailriding last winter, I averaged just under 15 mpg with the Scrambler. That was hard riding (113 miles in 3 hours). That goes to show how the same size engine, as a 2 stroke, uses much more gas! My 200cc bike get close to 70 mpg cruising about 60 mph!

I get good mialage with my ex. I drove 170km(106 miles)according to the rancher es I was going with. this is from a full tank to completly empty.(had extra gas)however, like I said, driving with a rancher, bayou 300, and prarie 400 doesn't make mine work hard at all when they are at wot(wide open throttle). I did a bunch of wheelies at the time, which wasts gas through the carb drain tube. if i rode with dirt bikes though, my mialage would be cut in half.I weighed 160 at the time of the trip.(I weigh 175 now, growing teen-ager)

oh yeah, that averages out to 40.7mpg.

I'm not arguing with you, but my 400EX only holds 3 gallons total. 2.6 and .4 reserve. And burning 3 gallons in 106 miles is 35.33 MPG. I guess you could improve the mileage that much without so much on and off the gas real hard. Plus the extra 20-30 pounds of mud I was carrying plus all the spinning. The more I think about it, that was a lousy time to be estimating gas mileage. LOL I'll get one more accurate when conditions allow.

Your MPG depends on the kind of riding you do. If you are gassing it a lot, you are going to get a lower MPG. If you are just cruising and not jamming it too much, you will get a higher MPG

I measured my Banshee on a 40 mile ride on paved roads at speeds from about 35 to 70+ MPH at right about 20 MPG.
