Here are a few pictures of the AC nerf bars i just bought. A few of you requested these, so here ya go.
Don't mind the mud/dirt on the quad, these were taken right after a ride.
Here are the links to the pictures since this crappy a$$ board doesnt allow html or cfb image code in the post.

Mike,

Looks sweet!

I just put mine on last week as well.
Ya know you can keep those plastic foot guards on there with the AC's.

At first I took them off too, and then i went wheeling through a bunch of watery sloppy mud and was getting the **** thrown down the back of my boots.
I mean my boots were full of slop.

One of the 40)EXs i ride with has the AC's and he said his came with spacers needed to keep the plastic guards and save all the slop that gets thrown up from landing in the back of your boots.

Basically the guard stays on the outer hole and the spacer is used for the inner hole, where the bars mount to the foot pegs.

And I trimmed off all the extra net they give you as well. How far do you really need to adjust these things.

One last ??? Did you replace your front plastics to red?
I thought the pic looked black.

I have red/black and was wondering about getting black rear plastic and gas tank surround. Know where to get black plastics?

thanks again for posting the pics

I also ac nerfs. I love them. I had an older set of DG but they weren't the kind where you can replace the netting. I got the AC because I liked how they bolted on the the frame and footpegs. I have the exact pair you have. I wanted the pro peg series, the ones with foot guards already built in, but they didn't make them for 300ex.

I never noticed that the fenders look black in that pic until you mentioned it. Actually they are red in that picture, i guess it's just bad lighting, because they have always been all black.
You can get black fenders from honda or maier. The honda fenders (in any color) look better but will cost alot more.

As for the turf tamers, i love em! When these go bald (they're getting there) i'm going with the same tire again. The backs are 20x11-9 and the front (which are fast trekkers) are 21x7-10

I wanted to put the heel guards back on but never got the chance. I started to cut them slightly to get 'em to fit but haven't had the chance to finish. I like the look of the quad without them but i think i'm going to put them back on for the same reason you did. TONS of MUD on my boots.

Would you mind me asking how much you payed for the AC Regular Nerfs and where you got them? For a 400ex do you have to trim the black guards? Thanks

i'm not mike

but i paid 120 out of motoman.com for them. 130 shipped.

They are IMHO the best nerfs you can get. DGs also IMHO are junk and look bad.

It's a 93 and i love the supertrapps pipe. Sounds great but isnt too loud. I can't really comment on how it is compared to stock because i bought the quad with a DG race pipe on it. Compared to the dg pipe i can say that it actually feels faster and idles/runs alot better. I think the dg race pipes are ok for the top end but lose alot of power down low.
I like it.

I agree, the DG nerfs look like junk.

I bought my 300ex with the heal guards removed ... i put them on a few months later to see how they looked... I rode with them and i hated them so i took them off. I don't really have a huge problem with mud and slop getting on my shoes (which is what i usally ride with).
