Hello, I have a question regarding my 07 honda trx400fa. I have changed the angle sensor, transmission motor, carburetor which came with the tps attached.(I tested the tps resistance and voltage.. all checked out within specs). The quad starts and runs great. It does idle a bit high. I have two questions: (1) when I go to initialize the quad, the gear position does not display ‘D’. It flashes “-“ 6 times. I try to continue with the reset procedure. I hold the ‘up’ ‘down’ while turning ignition to ‘on’. I wait a moment and push ‘up’ ‘down’ ‘up’. I hear the transmission motor. Then push the throttle from fully closed, to fully open, then back to fully open. At this time, the trans. motor stops. The motor does not complete the full reset. Then it’s back to code 6. I have the quad up with rear wheels off.
(2)The manual says to check rpms.
I don’t have a tachometer on the dash. Do I need a rpm tester. If so, is that to be adjusted with the idle control cable?
i appreciate any advice. This quad has
taken so much of my time. It has become an obsession and frustrating situation. Thank you all!
