400 FOREMAN...WHICH OIL ?

hi guy,s just a quick question.... 1996 400 foreman...not auto-matic, 4x4,...can i use synthetic oil in my bike? rumour has it i can,t ...hope that rumour is wrong ! I would like to run the synthetic oil if i can ! any factual info is appreciated ! thanks ....terry !

I heard synthetic is not recommended because of the clutch plates could slip,not sure though.
I just keep adding from different oil cans laying around the garage from the car,snowblower,lawnmower and such to keep the quad topped up.

I run mobil 1 synthetic. Just to let you know i towed two unloader wagons at work in 4th gear going down the road so we're lookin at a lot of weight. Anyways i had no clutch slippage what so ever.

Amsoil is pretty good stuff. They have a new 20W-50 oil out that performs really good.
