Hondamatic gone bad - input?

Hello All, new to this forum. I have a steep hillside property use ATV for hauling wood, maple sap, utility tasks. Bought a used 2004 Honda Foreman Rubicon in 2016. By the end of 2018 the hondamatic went bad, clanging sound when driving, wouldn't shift. I tried fixing it with a friend in his shop but its now just sitting there with engine out. Trying to figure out what to do. Buy new hondamatic and replace? New engine? Sell for parts and buy new/used ATV. ANy input appreciated. Thanks

Hondamatic gone bad - input?

Hi All, new to this gathering. I have a lofty slope property use ATV for pulling wood, maple sap, utility errands. Purchased a utilized 2004 Honda Foreman Rubicon in 2016. Before the finish of 2018 the hondamatic turned sour, banging sound when driving, wouldnt move. I had a go at fixing it with a companion in his shop however its currently staying there with motor out. Attempting to sort out what to do. Purchase new hondamatic and supplant? New motor? Sell for parts and purchase new/utilized ATV. Any information appreciated. Much obliged.
