I know that this question should go under "Buying an ATV" but that thread doesn't seem to get much traffic. I am considering buying a 400EX in the near future and was wondering what kind of deals if any people were getting on these. With how well they are selling I doubdt that dealers are willing to take much less than MSRP, but I was just curious if I should even bother haggling. If you could please tell me what you paid out the door, which model year 99/00, and what state you purchased in. Thanks

I got my 99 model for $8280.00, taxes and interest. Dealer sold one the first day it came in and he had six other guys that wanted mine. I can tell you, he wasn't about to dicker with me. I got an extra six months warranty and a honda racing hat for free. My friend bought his from another dealer and paid a hundred dollars more with no extended warranty or hat. Purchased in good old Canada.

Got my 2000 for $5925 total in Pennsylvania. I had to put a deposit on it and waited about two months for it to arrive. I got one of only two to arrive all summer. Price break?...forget it!

Canada is the place to buy ice hockey equipment though...killer exchange rate plus no taxes!

I payed $6000 even. That included a extended 3 year waranty and taxes. I went in on the last day of the month just expecting to put money down on one and wait for a while until they could get one. But being the last day the salesman wanted the commission on that month and they he left the next morning and drove 200miles round trip to get my 400ex for me. I got it that night. So if there is still a waiting period where you are try the end of the month thing. I live in Idaho but bought it in Ontario, Oregon.

99--$6150 out the door in pa.Had refundable deposits at six dealers.Told them whoever got it first got the sale.Waiting list averaged about four people.Waited about a month and a half. The smallest dealer came through. It seams that Honda dosen't care how big the dealer is,every dealer gets the same amount. The bigest dealer gave me $200 off list but the waiting list was 10 long. And no chance for four months.I do know that the 00 are $300 more than the 99,s just a price increase.Probably for that new slick decal.I think not!

Quad, taxes, tag, redg, encumbrence fee(what is that, I have to pay his shipping)
