Does anyone know why the 2002 Recon (non ES) weighs 9 more pounds than the 2001? Also has anyone heard how much more power it has? (According to Honda's site it says "this year it's even more powerful") Also check out the Cheezy gear indicator on the Recon ES, it sucks. Wonder why they didn't use the nice digital one from the Rancher?

Where are you seeing pictures of the gear indicator? All I can see is that one shot, and you can't tell much of anything about the gear indicator from that...

Am I missing something?

Well the main reasoning behind it is cost...If they put the really nice digital display, they would have to raise the price I'm sure...being the smallest and cheapest sport/utility quad honda has, they want to keep the price down as much as possible...i also wish they would put the nice display on, even if it was a couple hundred more...i am very interested in this machine...im sure they did to the Recon what they did to the 250 EX, but kept the gearing the same as the old recon....
