i am looking for a used 99-01 400ex. can someone tell me what is a reasonable price for a 99, 00, and 01. and maybe the price for a 99 with a pipe, and some other little mods. but in good condition

Don't waste your time. I tried the same thing, but all the nice ones are still around $4500-$4900, a new one is just a few hundred more. Your best bet is to get a new one, that way you know where it has been and how hard it has been beat.

 

For a 99 I would say $4000 and then every year go up between $400-$500. Its also depending where you live to because all dealers are NOT the same.
