So I’ve got a 2008 400ex. I’m looking to replace the cylinder, with a good used 2004 cylinder.
I’ve done some homework on the part numbers, the 99-07 400ex are a different part number than the 2008 but they have the same base and head gaskets.
Does anyone have the experience on what the difference may be?

Its appears the crankshaft and piston same numbers but cam and rockers and head is different may need to change top end[cam,head,rockers gasket] to make work HP maybe an little different I dont have specs here with me

the thing that’s confusing is you look at the aftermarket cylinder kits and they claim theres work on 99-2008 or even 99-2014 400ex but when you look up oem the part numbers are different
Sometimes the part numbers supersede old numbers……but I’ve got nothing indicating in my research.
