Making it look good

I am still working on my project 1986 350 rx quad.

What have you guys done as far as polishing different parts other than the motor, or basically how did you make your quad look good. I need some ideas.

I am really interested in stock axles tip on how to make it look good. What about the swingarm? I have the 86 so it is steel. Has anyone painted theirs? If so what kind of paint and just out of curiosity, what color.

Thanks in advance

Brad

I've looked into having the stock axle coating with a ceramic chrome product that is also used for header coatings. It can be polished and has a warranty against corrosion. Go to http://www.performancecoatings.com I've had pipes and other stuff coated with thier CermaChrome and it all looks good. The kickstarter disassembled, the foot brake lever, the gear shift lever, and steering stem are all canidates for coating. The CermaChrome isn't as shiny as chrome, but nearly when polished, it certaintly passes the 10-10 rule, 10 foot away at 10 mph.

On the stock axles, that have ridges (i.e. like whats the Banshee, and Warrior) I always just jacked up the back end so that the wheels wern't touching, fire the bike up, have a buddy put it in 3rd or 4th gear and give it gas, while he is doing this I would take some scotch brite/ SOS pads, and wrap it around the axle and put as much pressure as possible on it while going back and forth, which polishes them up real good

Just an Idea

Hey good ideas,

I like the coating deal. I may have a use for that.

I think I am going to try that trick with the scotch brite.

Thanks
