1986 Honda 125 TRX clicks when wheels rotate after oil screen cleaned
#1
I recently bought a 1986 Honda 125 TRX that’s identical to the one I had in 1988 for my son who had outgrown his 50cc quad. The unit has great plastics and cosmetically is wonderful, but looked like service could have been neglected. First thing I noticed is that the oil desperately needed to be changed, so after downloading the shop manual I saw there was a filter screen located behind the outer cover that I wanted to inspect/clean. Upon removal of the outer cover a couple of the shift parts came out attached to the cover and a couple fell out. Using the manual I reinstalled and everything seems to work fine but now upon axle rotation even in neutral I’m getting a clicking noise coming from what I assume is the shifter area as that was the only thing other than the oil screen that I had my hands on internally. Just was hoping to maybe get an idea of what I may have done wrong before I take the cover off again to try and fix my mess up…..??
