Changing grips on a 1993 trx300ex

Im planning on changing the oem grips on my 93 300ex but theres bolts on either ends of the handle bar, im wondering if that has anything to do with the grips?

There just there to help keep grip from sliding off the Oem grip have a hole in the tip to aloud bolt to go through also weigh help keeps viberation down
