My subframe is damaged and I want to get a new one. I could get a stock unit for about $140 or an aftermarket subframe for around $400. Has anyone else had to replace their subframe? If so, what did you get? Anyone know a cheap place for the aftermarket subframes?

I have a friend that makes them out of chromoly tubing. I have had one on mine for several months with no problems. He charges like $225 + shipping. You will need to get it painted, powdercoated, or chromed yourself though. I had mine painted with car paint. Hope it helps.
