The mudrunners look good for serious muddin, but most of my riding is on the trails, so I will be buying the new 489 xt's. I can't talk too much trash about the stock dirt hooks because i've got almost 1,000 miles on em and no flats!! Not to shabby.....{for stock}.
good luck

I'm running the 26" Mudrunners on my Sportsman H.O. I love them. They give me a smoothride that I would compare to the original stock tires. They have 1" lugs that really claw through the mud. For a all around utility four wheeler tire that can take you any where you want to go they're one of the best.
Another tire that you might want to check into is the Titan 589. Looks similar to the 489 tread pattern. But there designed with a better clean lug pattern that is also deeper than the 489.

489s have nothing in common with a Mudrunner.I have owned Mudrunners on both my 500cc Sportsman and now my 00 Xplorer, these tires are as good as any other mud tire on the market as far as serious mud/snow traction goes. You may want to check out the Gators and Dirt Devils from the Rocky Mountain catalog, they have the same features as the Mudrunners at a fraction of the cost.
