I am 15 and have never personally owned a quad before. I have ridden my friends 3 wheeler. Its automatic. I am about 5'3" and 120 lbs. I am currently looking to buy a 400ex. I dont really want a 300ex, for fear of me wanting the 400ex when i get used to it. Should I go ahead and buy the 400ex or not?

Thanks

It would definatly be a big way to start out, but it is not completely nuts. The answer is actually in how you think and act. Could you control yourself and always think about your lack of experience? Could you think ahead and not ride outside of your limits? Oh yea, if you do get any type of off-road vehicle, be it quad, bike, or trike, GET AND ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET! Sorry if i'm coming of as a jerk, but I don't want what happened to our sport in the late 80's to EVER happen again. It just gives a VERY bad image of ATV's to most people if someone, who is underage for there quad, wrecks and kills themself because they were riding out of their limits...Holy Crap, I need to calm down...Anyway, back to your question. I think that if you are mature enough, you will have no problem with a 400ex. Remeber that even though it is has quite a bit of power, it doesn't mean that you need to use it all.
