A Wolverine is not nearly as fast as a Scrambler 500. Plus it only has 3WD compared to the Scrambler's switchable true 4WD. If you want to keep up with the sport machines plus have 4WD, the Scrambler is the only answer at this point.

 

Get the Scrambler...For the money, it is your best buy. The riding you will be doing sounds best suited for the Scrambler. I actually have a friend that had the same problem. He rode with many 4X4's and sport quads. He ended up buying a Scrambler and never regretted it. He has no problem keeping up with the sport quads, due in part to the fact that he has been riding for 14 years, and can stick with the 4X4's. GO FOR THE SCRAMBLER!!!

 

Wow! what a tough decision wish there was one option only....I'm thinking about the wolverine,but how reliable is it?Maybe they will come out with an un - locker for it, that would be great!!!!!!

I would strongly consider the Wolverine.....I have a rancher now and a Wolverine and have had A warrior. Everytime I rode the warrior it would wrap me up in mud and it had no ground clearance. Thats the way most sport quads are... NO MUD PROTECTION! Also no ground clearance because of the chain drive. The Wolverine is the best all around fun machine I have ever owned, and very reliable. Polaris is definitly not know for reliablity. I would defintly buy Honda or Yamaha

 

If you need to go places a 2x4 wont go but you want to be sporty and you like the rancher then you should get the 4x4 rancher and wait a month or so til highlifter releases their on demand 4x4 kit that they are goimg to make that you will be able to get fro the rancher , foremans , TRX350s , and rubicons . That way you can have 4x4 when you need it but when you want to roost then push the lever and pop it in 2x4 mode . if you go to highlifter.com and you click on the un-locker it shows a rancher with some huge *** outlaws on it roosting around a corner and wheeling . Get the Scrambler 400 Sport it is a great all around quad

Get the new Kawasaki 650.

 

The new Foremans that have 2WD/4WD switch might be worth taking a look at.

 

I agree with DrRod. If you have never seen a Wolverine, you should at least look at them. They are the best mix of Sport and Utility available. Dirtwheels Magazine even raced one when it first came out.
