Let me begin by saying hello to everyone. I just stumbled across this web site searching for info on ATV's. I just bought my first ATV last weekend after discovering it being stored on a friends property. What I bought is a '97 TRX300EX. After I brought it home, I have discovered that I purchased a racing ATV, not a work horse like I wanted. I need something for hunting and carrying my photography gear through the woods and across the farm. I have found rear racks for the EX, but that is about all as for as utility acessories. I guess my question here is, should I sell what I have, or go ahead and try and modify the EX and have a hybrid ATV? I just cannot see myself at almost 40 years of age racing an ATV. Especially after $32,000 in back surgery!

Scott

I would not try to make the 300ex into something that its not. I would sell it (or trade it) and pick up a small 2wd/4wd utility atv like a Honda Recon, Polaris Trailboss, Honda Rancher, Polaris Magnum, etc. There are a ton of utility type atvs to choose from in all price ranges. Also, there is a host of accesories for the utility atvs that may also interest you for the use you have intended. Hope this helps.
