My 95 ex has a cobra jet exhaust with a uni filter. It has a 128 main and runs perfect. I just got a K&N and as soon as I get some oil for it I'm going to use it. I'll try it with the 128 then go up if needed. If I have to go up chances are you would too even with the pipe. Anyone know if I can use foam filter oil on a K&N? I'll post later and tell you if it added me any power over the uni.

I didnt change my jetting with the K&N on my 250x. i think they are rich from the factory.
This idiot guy at the yamaha shop in town said to use foam oil on the paper eliment. I think it defeats the purpose. Get the aerosal spray it is the only way to go. Get an outerwears all i do is wash the outerwears of after everytime i ride adn the filterand i only clean the filter every month or so from normal riding.

I just put the K&N on and didn't change a thing. Noticed a little improvment but nothing to brag about. I also just got a White brothers air box lid. It has 2 holes in the top. The instructions say to change the jet size by 3, but I will try it without changing the jet and see. Remember that the better you quad can breath, the faster it wil go.

MITTY124, BETTER GET MORE THAN THAT AIRBOX LID TO KEEP UP WITH ME IN THE WOODS!!

just kidding. seriously though i have 2000 300ex and put just the filter on with stock pipe and stock airbox lid. felt a slight improvement. quad ran good from south carolina to penn. without changing jets. i think honda sets them rich from factory also.

see you in west virginia next friday

Well I just put mine on. I noticed a little power increase, but mostly it really got more throttle response. The only thing I had to do was turn the fuel/air mixture screw one time to richen it up.

We have a 97 300ex that my girlfriend rides and I installed a K&N filter with a Outerwear, no airbox lid, stock pipe and I'm running a 132 main with a 1/4 turn more on the richment screw on the very bottom of the carb. We run no lids primarily because all we ride in is the sand.
