It rocks. I've owned a banshee before I got a 400 and let me tell ya it's like night and day. You really notice how out dated the banshee really is. It handles alot better and doesn't turn like a tank. It's light and nible even if you have to turn it around it's lighter. I got it buried in a mud puddle when I got it and I lifted the whole front end almost straight up and manuvered the back wheels out of the mud. I coildn't even lift the front end of the banshee. All in all do it you will not regret it. Honda out did themselves here!

My 400EX is awesome. I have a 2001, too (although they haven't changed much over the last couple of years), and it's a great bike. It's nimble and quick, and it holds it's own among more powerful machines like the Raptor. My husband has a Raptor, and he and I ride together all the time, and the only time he can outrun me is on a long straight stretch, and even then it's not by much. What it lacks for in huge power it more than makes up for in supension, handling, and quickness. The only thing I have heard anyone complain about is the seat. I have a friend who says it hurts his rear, and I told him it wasn't meant to be sat on that much! You can also get many aftermarket mods for it that will make it more than competitive with anything out there! You definately won't regret getting one!

I own both, the 300 is my wife's bike. There is no comparison. The 400 is faster, handles better, jumps higher, and is much, much more forgiving than the 300. It has the ponies to power your way out of mistakes, where you'd have to grit your teeth, hang on, and hope for the best on the 300. It's still too slow for open fire roads or the sand, but on an MX track or a steep winding trail, it's awesome.
