I have found that the 400ex likes to start hard when transported with the gas on. Or if I stand it up on the grab bar to take off the skid. The carb might be overflowing or flooding out. Did you have any fuel coming out of the overflow while you were trying to crank it?

hey i can finally answer a question in here ! not sure exactly why but not only do an a.t.v. have a hard time starting after being transported but so do other toys , such as a snowblower and others ! i must be something to do with the carburator and the gas movement inside !my 400 foreman wants to sit for ,like a minute after coming off the truck ! so does the snowblower in the winter ! not scientific, but it is normal !
