if hi performance quads were banded for 10 years, then how come they made a Yamaha Banshee from 1987-2001?

If they did come out with the 650, I am sure they would keep the weight down. It would be awesome if they came out with an aluminum frame like their CR's and the FX400.

What?!?!?!?!? lawsuits banned Honda from the sport quads????? That is RIDICULOUS!!! although I do trust the people saying it's true!! I can't believe it!!
Does anyone have details on this? It's the first time I hear about this crap concentrate...This is stupid!!
Why Honda and not Yamaha? Why not Suzuki and their Quadzilla?

zorro, i have read it many times on the forums and on sites. just do a little research. too many where hurting themselves on the 250r's and suing honda so one of the agreements was they couldn't produce a high preformance quad for 10 years. or somethin like that. i don't know why yamaha didn't get into trouble but the quadzilla was already out of production by the time the agreement came into place.

It was the three-wheelers that were banned, and what most of the lawsuits and injuries were about. The Quads got caught up in the furor, and one of the agreements made was NO DEVELOPMENT of HIGH PERFORMANCE QUADS for 10 years. Honda just said screw it and so did pretty much everybody else. Yamaha stayed the course and kept making the Banshee and Blaster. That's why, in this latest round, these machines are marketed much like motocrossers, High performance,
for experienced riders only, no riders under 16, blah, blah. They are still getting sued, that is just part of doing business these days, nearly any business, but it is not the tidal wave of lawsuits brought on by crappy three-wheelers marketed to children. I think it will be a 650ex. The 450ex would be nice but it does take a long time for testing.unless honda put out the bike frist then is going to put out the quad 450ex.
