How to wheelie 400ex ?
#2
You need to practice. You can't be told how to ride a wheelie anymore than you can be told how to jump, or anything else. Lean back, grab some throttle and go. The more you practice, the better you will get. Expect to scuff up your grab bar, it happens. Also, if you can't ride a wheelie on a 400EX you just don't have it in you. That machine is probably one of the best machines for wheelies I have ever been on. Good luck.

How I do it is, I get in my gear and keep the rpm kind of low around 2,000 rpm. Then I let off and put my weight over the front end, then open it up while moving my weight back and pulling back. The amount you open it up depends on how fast you are going, and what gear you are in. Don't start out by pegging it and flipping it over on top of you. You will also have to experiment with where you have the rpm before you let off, you want it where you have the most torque. This is very important it you don't have it just right you won't get a good amount of lift on your front end.
Everyone has there own wheelie technique, some slip the clutch, or do it when they let out the clutch when starting out in 1st. I like my technique the most, I tried to slip the clutch the first time I was trying to do one wheel wheelies, but I think keeping it engaged and using the engine torque is more effective.
