would it be a good idea to flip the wheels around on the front of my recon?

I guess it boils down to: do you want to "go around turns faster", or.... NOT stress suspension components and cause premature wheel bearing failures. The wheels are designed to bolt on ONE WAY, hence the tapered seat for the lug nut. Check it out. Turning the wheels around is a very bad idea. Buying tne PROPER wheel with a predetermined offset is the way to go. In my humble opinion.

Actualy on some quads it is a good idea to turn your wheels around, let me explain. On the Ohtsu tires that came stock on 250R's and 400EX's you can turn the front tires around as long as you have the valve stems facing out. So hence the rims are on the right way and the tire is just spinning backwards. I did this on my 250X since it has the same Ohtsu's as the EX and R. In my humble opinion it handles better but that's just what I think. I got the idea from dirtwheels.

Dam#!!! I didn't realize this is such a hot topic. All I am trying to get acrossed about the wheel thing is: A lot of design and R&D went into your quad's frame and suspension. The wheels, because of their tapered lug nut "seats", are meant for one-way installation. There is a specific(to design) offset built into your wheels, also. When you start altering suspension components you BETTER understand stress characteristics. If you don't, you are SURE to have some failures. While Honda seems to understress most anything they build, before you "push the envelope", you should understand (thoroughly)the operating environment and the stresses on the components you are altering. Just my opinion. Later, Mike V.
