This is the second tire I have blown in the past month, the first on had a pretty good hole in it so I replaced it with a new tire (expensive). And now I have just put a small hole in my front tire, its about halfway flat right now. These are my options:

1. Fill the tire with green slime and pump it back up...bad for the rims? will it stop other holes?
2. Find the cut and put in a plug
3. Put a tube in the tire...except water might get into the tiny hole and rust my rim?
4. Buy aluminum sheeting and wrap all my tires...a little loud but hey no more flats!!

What do you suggest?

thanks
bill

I would say put a tube in it. About half of my tires have tubes by now and the other half probably have plugs too come to think of it. I wouldn't worry about water leaking in; just air them up enough to seat the bead and you should be fine.

Plug it- ....it's the fastest and easiest way. The slime won't hold that long.

Put Slime in it. It will not harm your rims(Fix a Flat in a can is bad)! Or put a plug in it, I would not put a tube in it. I have used slime the last 3 years. Not one flat!!

Don't listen to KKKILLER250X, his bodies in New Hampshire but his brain is out in east bum...well you get the idea.

About the tire the tire, for a permentant fix try going to your local tire shop and having it vulcanized. It's a process of melting down the rubber and filling in the hole. Reletively cheap and if it's good enough for the big rigs I think it can hold a little ATV tire together.

I've always put plugs into all of my tires...never failed me either!
The Slime Goo works great too,it've used it before, but a little expensive

to plug the tire, you need the screwdriver type thing and the plug.
if you cannot visually find the hole, take the tire off and put about 15-20 psi in it and get it wet, a bucket of soapy water works great, the hole will make bubbles, be sure to dry it off good, and then put the plug in, cut off any extra sticking out so there's no more than 1/4 inch sticking out from the tire so it doesn't get riped out while riding.

hope that helps some
