400ex question???

how deep can a 400ex go in water and not mess anything up? i want to know so i dont get stuck in water? thanks

You can pretty much go in water up to the air intake. That is probably located under the seat on your machine. Make sure everything else is sealed really good if you are going to go hat deep.

my friend has taken his 400ex in mud/water a little hire then his frame.

i've taken my 300ex in water so deep that there wasn't even a fingers width between my muffler and the water. i got off the quad and sank up to my waste in mud/water hehe.

I had my 400ex floating in 4 feet of water. I thought it was a little puddle and then I fell into the hole. A lot of jeeps do mud runs where I ride- and obviously- this was a hole made by a jeep.

So as soon as I went under- I jumped off the back of the atv and held the throttle wide open to keep the engine from stalling- and I kept pushing until I reached the mud bank. I was lucky nothing got in the engine (from what I know)-... I'm sure a little something got in there. My K&N airfilter was soaked and the airbox was full of water. It had trouble getting air from the soaken filter.

So to answer your question-

....As deep as you want. Put some floatation devices on and maybe some extra long paddles and you have an amphibous cruizer!
