350X or 250R motor?
#1
I don't have much money at the moment to spend casue i am only 13 and i'm needin some advice. Should i just mod my 300EX (pipe, filter, airbox mods, jets, etc.) or should i put a trx or atc 250R motor in it or a atc 350X? I'm not sure if my dad would even let me but i was hopin some1 might wanan trade motors and all components w/ mine. How much more power does the 350X have than my 300? top speed? Would it be worth it? How does it run with a 400EX? thanks for the input

Well, I dont know how much power a 350X motor has. (im sure quite a bit)
But I was thinking of putting an ATC/TRX 250R in my 200X ATC.
I priced them.... and said no. In my area <northern AZ> 250R
motors are going for $1500-2000 JUST for the motor.
Id look up prices before you get too exited.
(I also found a 350X motor for $1000)

Whatever motor you get, you get that tranny too.
The tranny is in the case with the engine. ALL ONE.
Get a 250R motor, and you have a 6 speed.
One thing to consider. To put an R motor in a 300EX (dont know HOW hard that would be, probably much welding involved for the motor mounts)
you would have to mount two radiators (my old CR had two, so I assume the R does)
run coolant hoses..... I would try to stick with a bigger air cooled 4 stroke. Much less trouble.

Yes, the 350x is a much better choice. They are a relaitively easy bolt in. I think powroll makes the conversion kit for the 250x/300ex to 350x conversion. The 250R would have way too much power for your chassis, and the 350x is much more reliable and very torquey.

just tinker with the standard motor......ya can extract a lot more out the motor before boring or anything
if ya want a 350x.........buy the whole bike and ride that..........more fun
