Yeah a K & N filter is worth it! They are the best air filter. You will notice a slight sound difference and some gains throughout the powerband. But I don't like to run a K & N without an Outerwear because they let fine dust particles into your engine. If you ride mostly in EXTREMELY dusty conditions like I do, or race motocross I would go with a foam UNI cause they don't let in as much dust. UNIs are not as good a K & N but they get the job done.

I would just go for the K&N with outerwear. And when you have the money go for the power up kit.

UNIs are a little cheaper the K & N but I only would go with that only if you ride in extremely dusty conditions. I still recomend a K & N filter with an Outerwear and maybe an Outwear air box cover for about 5 bucks more.
