at 2:30 this monday morning somebody stole my 400ex , they cut the lock and carried it OVER my cars , pushed it down the road, hotwired it and drove it off , it is a 99 with dg nerf bars and had holeshots on the back and i live in orangeburg , south carolina . If you love your atv you betterkeep it in a vault or have insurance !!any body else had there's stolen and got it back ?

 

Stang; S.C. must be the stolen atv captol of the U.S. I am near Kingstree and had mine stolen last year, never seen it again. Have a nieghbor who has had his took 3 times now and has gotten it back every time. We have had so many stolen here I have lost count. A few years back a group came through and loaded up 18 one night in a community not far from here. It is ridiculous something must be done I have mine locked up so good I can hardly get to it when I want to ride. Very sorry to hear about it.

Give us some characteristics like colors,decals, distiguishing marks,dents, or whatever. Maybe one of us will spot it around the state or one of the ORV's we frequent.

 

thanks for the response , it has stock plastic , twist throttle , white bros e-series pipe, dg alloy nerf bars, taillight is partially busted , had douglas wheels withe 23" holeshots on rear , stock tires on front , vin # 478TE2304XA002658 , thats the best desrcip i can think of......nerf bars have red webbing..

 

How odd, here in Oregon we cannot get ORV tags without haveing DMV run our VIN number.. guess that makes sence now Luckley where I live I can leave the house unlocked without any trouble when gone

they found it within 5 miles of my house , they have a pretty good idea on who took it and the damage goes something like this : I had 2 new holeshots and douglas rims on the back , one of them is completely gone and replaced with what looks like a stock honda rim with a Stryker on it. On the left rear is one of the holeshots and it is worn down to the point of trashing it.On the front the right front stock wheel and tire are still there but badly worn , on the left front is a difefrent wheel , oversized tire (bridgestone), they broke the twist throttle and almost rung the grip off of it. My ignition switch is totally gone and has wires hanging underneath the front of it where they hotwired it.I had a white bros. pipe on it and it is totally gone , they ran it with just the header pipe. Of course the tool kit and cover are gone. The battery was dead and the front end might be damaged. The switch just came in today and i havent got to crank it yet. I hoe to have it going by saturday. They also took the whole tailight assembly off and cut the grabbar even with the seat and ruined my chain and sprockets. The whole thing is scratched , it looks like they flipped it and rolled it. I put a 440 kit , cam , rev limiter in it a couple of weeks before they got it. I'm hopin it at least hurt if they flipped it !!more later if your interested !

 

For the first time ever I must say , I hope that guy wasn,t wearing a helment when he flipped!!!HA HA Glad you got it back you were one of the lucky ones.
